- On a business trip to Buenos Aires, George - founder of the brand, was looking for a pair of shoes that is both elegant and casual. Nostalgic of the sneakers which he wore during the summer on the beaches of the Basque coast, he searched around but realised such sneakers are no longer available.
It was obvious that to him that a French brand of espadrilles needed. So when George returned to France, he started Escadrille and designed a timeless model, both elegant and comfortable, entirely hand-made thanks to the know-how of Basque craftsmen.
The brand took off instantly and Elise joined the company in 2016 and launched many more exciting collections.
