  • The York is Riccardo Bestetti's take on the classic balmoral oxford. This model is probably the most formal design from Bestetti but the use of burgundy french calf leather adds a little playfulness to it. Wear it with your favourite navy or grey suit for a perfect look.

All Bestetti shoes are hand lasted and hand welted by the experienced shoemakers in their workshop in Vigevano, Italy. Metal toe tips are installed to ensure longevity and lasted shoetrees are included.

*Fits large to size. Take half a size smaller than usual.

  • Riccardo Bestetti is one of the most underrated shoemakers in the world today.

Unlike many Italian or English shoemakers who boast great shoemaking factories and heritage, Riccardo’s shoes stand out for both craftsmanship and design. Riccardo’s interpretation of shoes is heavily influenced by his training, which interestingly enough, took place in the United States! Unlike most shoemakers who apprenticed and trained in Italy, the United Kingdom or Hungary, Riccardo started his shoemaking journey making cowboy boots in Texas. As a result, his last shapes and designs have a greater hint of internationalism when compared to his contemporaries in Italy and the United Kingdom.

Despite the internationalism, Riccardo remained steadfast to the Italian shoemaking tradition. This meant that his shoes are made with the finest leather from European tanneries, sometimes even exotic, with the highest possible level of craftsmanship. Such craftsmanship can be clearly seen from the hand welting of the soles, the level of detailing of the brogueing, and on the whole, how aggressively balanced the shoes look upon completion.

In addition, every pair of Bestetti, whether ready-to- wear, semi-bespoke (Novecento) or bespoke, are made by hand in their workshop in Vigevano, without any compromises. There are many well-made shoes in the world today, especially with the renewed focus on classic menswear in the past few years. However, few have the combination of the unique heritage and craftsmanship that Bestetti embodies. This puts Bestetti in a special place in the realm of shoemaking, one that it truly deserves.
